Starting the new year out right?

I can not believe this is the 30th of Jan. 2010. My Christmas deco is partially down and in piles all over the living room. Haven,t even started on the familyroom ,their are Santas everywhere! I have a nasty cold. My Zicam didn,t work and I have absolutely no ambition. Happy New Year!!
We had new windows installed last year and I threw away all the old window treatments. Will try to get those ordered this year. We are living in a fish bowl. So much for saving on the heating bill this past year.
I put a black iron fence around our front yard. Keeps everyone from walking across the grass--no more unintended path. My son-in-law did the install. I did the first two sections. They were crooked. Jon redid them. He did a beautiful job and it looked great with my Christmas lights swagged between the posts, and red bows on each post. In the spring we will get the bushes and other plants for the front yard. I plan to plant only things that come back on their own and take almost no care. I am finding that I haven't got the energy to spend tons of time in the yard. I do have to uncover my sprinklers along the side of the house, as the workers covered them up when they were installing the brick path ways. Luckily my strong handsome grandsons always need extra money, so that can be a hire job.
Our Children are scattered now. Cyndie and Jon are still across the street from us. Randy and Mandy are in Seattle, but are moving to Chandler, Az. soon. Debi and Bill just moved to Oklahoma in Nov. They are settled in Tulsa..the only green strip in the state. Jared is still in Saltlake, working at the University of Utah. He says there are lots of beautiful women up there! Becca and Scott are in Moama, Australia. It's about two hours above Melbourne. They love it there. We are officially empty nesters. Except for the four grandchildren across the street-Eight when Jon's four come to visit. That's always fun. We have a grand total of thirteen Grandchildren. With hopes of future additions.
I'm blogged out, so will close for now...Hope you all have a special beginning to 2010.

I about fell out of my chair when I saw you had written a post on your blog! I said, "Holy cow! Mom posted on her blog!" And Scott said, "Is she alright?!"

Thanks for the update! Sorry about your cold. Are you taking Airborn and all that? Good luck putting the Christmas stuff away. Or maybe just leave it up and tell people you really love Christmas and what it means and want to keep it in your heart all year. Or something. As for the front yard, I have been telling you this for years: Zen rock garden! Spray the weeds, rake the gravel, presto! you're done!

Love you lots and miss you tons!

I'd be willing to bet Mom doesn't know about comments, or how to check them... especially since her 10 yr old granddaughter had to teach her how to create a post in the first place. :)
